A MAN CAN START ANOTHER FAMILY IN TWO WEEEKS, HE IS NOT TOO ATTACHED EMOTIONALLY - MARRIAGE COUNSELLOR, SIMON ASEMOTA

Marriage Counsellor Simon Asemota has shared his thoughts on why some marriages fail, stressing the importance of learning from other families and being intentional about making a marriage work. 

Speaking on ‘Why Marriages Crack’ on the Conversation Podcast on NTA Network, Asemota said, 

“It’s not just your parent marriage but other families are also your teachers. So I started learning from those families then from there I made up my mind that when I am married, my marriage is going to work.” 

He also noted that men may sometimes move on quickly because they may not be as emotionally attached to a new relationship, saying, 

“There is tendency for you to forget especially as a man. A man can start another family in two weeks, even in less than two weeks he can start another family because he is not attached emotionally that much. So it’s just urges and once he has the urge, he just goes.”

Felicia, a 500-level Chemistry student, was arrested by the police following the incident, which occurred on Friday, August 28, 2026. According to Adikwu, the disagreement between her and Felicia had lasted for some time and worsened over personal matters, eventually prompting her to ask Felicia to leave their apartment. She alleged that after packing her belongings, Felicia went to a neighbour’s room, boiled water and mixed it with pepper, salt, onions and seasoning before returning and pouring the h%t mixture on her. WHATSAPP TO START CHARGING NIGERIA BUSINESSES FROM OCTOBER 2026

Businesses using Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform will begin paying for certain customer messages from October 1, 2026, following a new pricing structure announced by the company. The new policy applies primarily to organisations that use the WhatsApp Business Platform, formerly known as the WhatsApp Business API, to handle customer communications at scale. However, regular WhatsApp users and small businesses using the standard WhatsApp Business app are not the primary targets of the new charges. Under the revised pricing model, fees will vary depending on the type of message businesses send to customers. A 31-year-old mother, Kenya Glasgow, and her two-year-old daughter, Kennedi, have been k+lled by lightning during a thunderstorm in Margate, south-east Florida. Kenya was reportedly walking along Northwest 1st Street with her two-year-old twins on Sunday when lightning struck shortly before 2:30 p.m. A resident who found the mother and daughter lying on the sidewalk immediately called 911. A 23-year-old Omaha man, Deron Lewis-Payne, has been sentenced to 10 years and one month in federal prison after pleading guilty to robbing a bank and using, carrying and brandishing a fir+arm during the crime. Lewis-Payne robbed an i3Bank branch in Omaha, Nebraska, on February 10. He reportedly entered the bank, pointed a g¥n at tellers and threatened them before escaping with approximately $9,175. The Ogoni Dialogue Committee, ODC, has denied claims that it influenced the allocation of 40 job slots at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, or played any role in the award of government contracts. Speaking at a press conference in Port Harcourt, ODC Chairman, Professor Don Baridam, said the 40 employment opportunities were proposed as part of confidence-building measures in the Ogoni dialogue with the Federal Government. He, however, stressed that the committee neither selected nor recruited the beneficiaries, saying NNPCL relied on its existing recruitment database to identify qualified Ogoni applicants.
