IF YOU KNEEL TO PROPOSE MARRIAGE TO A WOMAN, YOU'RE CONCEDING HEADSHIP OF THE FAMILY TO HER - ACTOR PETE EDOCHIE

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has shared his views on marriage, gender roles and family leadership during an appearance on Bae U Barbie’s Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast.

During the conversation, Bae U Barbie asked Pete about his thoughts on becoming a househusband. Pete cautioned against a man praying for a situation where his wife would be responsible for providing for him.

“Don’t pray for your wife to feed you. If you get into such a situation, you’d like to take pois%n and d+e,” he said.

Pete went on to explain his position on a man proposing to a woman, arguing that kneeling to offer a woman a ring amounts to giving her leadership of the family.

“If you step down on your knee and you offer a woman a ring, you are conceding headship of the family to that woman,” he stated.

When Bae U Barbie asked him to take back the statement, Pete stood his ground.

“I will not take it back” he replied.

Businesses using Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform will begin paying for certain customer messages from October 1, 2026, following a new pricing structure announced by the company. The new policy applies primarily to organisations that use the WhatsApp Business Platform, formerly known as the WhatsApp Business API, to handle customer communications at scale. A 31-year-old mother, Kenya Glasgow, and her two-year-old daughter, Kennedi, have been k+lled by lightning during a thunderstorm in Margate, south-east Florida. Kenya was reportedly walking along Northwest 1st Street with her two-year-old twins on Sunday when lightning struck shortly before 2:30 p.m. A resident who found the mother and daughter lying on the sidewalk immediately called 911. The Ogoni Dialogue Committee, ODC, has denied claims that it influenced the allocation of 40 job slots at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, or played any role in the award of government contracts. Speaking at a press conference in Port Harcourt, ODC Chairman, Professor Don Baridam, said the 40 employment opportunities were proposed as part of confidence-building measures in the Ogoni dialogue with the Federal Government. He, however, stressed that the committee neither selected nor recruited the beneficiaries, saying NNPCL relied on its existing recruitment database to identify qualified Ogoni applicants. Professor Baridam acknowledged that some ODC members submitted names for consideration but said the nominations did not determine the final selection.
