"DESCRIBING THE ADC GOVERNORSHIP TICKET AWARDED TO GABRIEL PIDOMSON AS A 'CUNNING TICKET' IS DISRESPECTFUL." - AUGUSTUS FIRE AT MAGNUS ABE
The ADC Student Wings in Rivers State has criticized former senator and political leader, Senator Magnus Abe, over comments allegedly describing the governorship ticket awarded to Sir Gabriel Pidomson as a "cunning ticket" orchestrated by former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
In a press statement signed by the Coordinator of the ADC Student Wings in Rivers State, Comrade Augustus Dumbari Prince, the group described the alleged remark as unfair, misleading, and disrespectful to the democratic processes of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
According to the statement, the emergence of Sir Gabriel Pidomson as the party's governorship candidate followed legitimate party procedures and reflected the collective decision of stakeholders within the party.
The student body expressed concern that Senator Abe's comments could undermine the credibility of the candidate and the integrity of the party without presenting any evidence to support the claims.
"Political disagreements should be based on facts, policies, and visions for the people of Rivers State, not on remarks intended to create suspicion and division," the statement read.
The ADC Student Wings further urged Senator Abe to pursue constructive dialogue within party structures if he has concerns regarding the process, rather than making public statements capable of creating disunity among party members.
The group reaffirmed its confidence in the leadership qualities, competence, and vision of Sir Gabriel Pidomson, describing him as a credible candidate capable of advancing the interests of Rivers people.
They also called on party faithful and supporters to remain focused on the collective objective of building a stronger and more prosperous Rivers State.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the group's commitment to democracy, fairness, and the continued progress of the ADC in Rivers State.
