The Presidency reportedly spent N37.64 billion on presidential trips, logistics, foreign exchange and other travel-related expenses between June 2023 and April 2026, according to an analysis of GovSpend records. This comes as President Bola Tinubu on Sunday departed Abuja for Europe on a three-week annual vacation, with London as his first destination. The trip will bring his foreign travel tally since assuming office to 52. Businesses using Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform will begin paying for certain customer messages from October 1, 2026, following a new pricing structure announced by the company. The Nigerian Navy's FOB Formoso has arrested wanted militant kingpin Sunday Godlaw and his associate Prosper Tumbe at Opugbene, Akassa, Brass LGA, recovering an AK-47 rifle, three loaded magazines and a phone. The Ogoni Dialogue Committee, ODC, has denied claims that it influenced the allocation of 40 job slots at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, or played any role in the award of government contracts. Speaking at a press conference in Port Harcourt, ODC Chairman, Professor Don Baridam, said the 40 employment opportunities were proposed as part of confidence-building measures in the Ogoni dialogue with the Federal Government. He, however, stressed that the committee neither selected nor recruited the beneficiaries, saying NNPCL relied on its existing recruitment database to identify qualified Ogoni applicants. Professor Baridam acknowledged that some ODC members submitted names for consideration but said the nominations did not determine the final selection. A 31-year-old mother, Kenya Glasgow, and her two-year-old daughter, Kennedi, have been k+lled by lightning during a thunderstorm in Margate, south-east Florida. Kenya was reportedly walking along Northwest 1st Street with her two-year-old twins on Sunday when lightning struck shortly before 2:30 p.m. A resident who found the mother and daughter lying on the sidewalk immediately called 911. According to police, both victims had b¥rn marks on their bodies, with smoke reportedly coming from the injuries. The witness also said Kenya appeared to have two holes in her chest. A 23-year-old Omaha man, Deron Lewis-Payne, has been sentenced to 10 years and one month in federal prison after pleading guilty to robbing a bank and using, carrying and brandishing a fir+arm during the crime. Lewis-Payne robbed an i3Bank branch in Omaha, Nebraska, on February 10. He reportedly entered the bank, pointed a g¥n at tellers and threatened them before escaping with approximately $9,175. The case has attracted attention because investigators discovered that Lewis-Payne had used ChatGPT while preparing for the r%bbery. According to investigators, his phone contained evidence of searches related to police response times and firearm-related questions. In a rare and startling development, NDLEA operatives on Saturday, August, arrested a 101-year-old woman, Esther Ogunmabo, in Ilisan, Ogun state, with retail sachets of skunk, a strain of cannabis weighing 90 grams, which she claims she sells to locals. The centenarian told operatives that she resorted to the illicit drug trade after her provisions shop was razed by fire, adding that one of her daughters, who resides in Lagos, arranges the supply of the substance to her every four days, which she in turn sold in bits.
